I have to admit the change

Community Alpha Part 122

GMGM and welcome to Community Alpha Part 122, the newsletter that embodies the calm after the storm. After some turbulent and packed times, it is time to break down what we learned, what we built, and where the flow is taking us next.

  • BBF'26 Recap: Why a quieter festival week was exactly what we needed.

  • Community Brunch: Meet Imke from Hacker School and grab your spot for next Wednesday.

  • Wall of Fame: This week’s massive round of community posts and our RBB TV feature.

Recap Berlin Blockchain Festival

We have to be honest: the Berlin Blockchain Festival was significantly quieter than last year. Fewer people, fewer speakers, and fewer satellite events. But thank god.

Because the usual noise was missing, the quality of actual human interactions was on another level.

To be real, parts of the week felt like a massive family reunion or a school trip. The true believers are still here, even if some of them aren't strictly working in Web3 anymore.

We also asked the community about their absolute favorite moments of the week:

For us, the biggest takeaway is that the w3.hub remains the ultimate home base for all builders, a safe space to network, focus, and ship. Your feedback validated exactly that.

The grand finale on Friday wrapped up the week perfectly. First, we got quite literally mesmerized by a real magician at the "No Illusions" event hosted by Ledger, Midas, and SWCEU.

Right after, we moved out to the courtyard to finish the week with cold Degen Daiquiris, a local Berlin DJ set, and pure summer vibes with all you beautiful people.

Meet Imke & Brunch with Us!

I want to introduce a fresh face from our w3.hub coworking community. Imke Ohms joined us about two months ago, and she is already leaving her mark on the floor.

Here is her story in her own words:

“Hi, I'm Imke. I'm the newbie at the w3.hub, having started in May, and I'm passionate about digital ethics!  I studied philosophy, theology and complex decision-making in northern Germany.

I currently motivate volunteers and teachers to deliver free programming courses in schools. I work as a project manager for Hacker School, a non-profit organisation that delivers free digital coding courses in classrooms across Germany.

Apparently I'm also the coach for the three daily workout sessions at the w3.hub (w3 = 3 workouts ;) ). Hit me up if you need motivation or want to chat about philosophy or anything else over lunch in the park!”

To welcome her properly, we are hosting a community brunch next Wednesday.

I have reserved about 20 spots for the community to connect, eat, and chat. Grab your spot before they are gone.

Since you guys were being exceptionally sweet on socials this week, we are featuring a few more community highlights than usual. Take a look at the week through your eyes:

Never miss an event from us:

The festival week might be over, but the memories are here to stay. We even had the local RBB television crew filming at the hub, which was pretty wild to see.

Now, the clean-up is done and the hub is ready for another high-focus week of building. Come by, grab a coffee, and let's get back to work.
